Pimmit Run Cleanup Success

The inaugural Pimmit Hills Environmental Committee cleanup was a great success. 19 volunteers braved the cold weather on the Martin Luther King Jr holiday to collect eight bags of trash from Pimmit Run between Lemon Road and Olney parks. Volunteers also removed invasive vines such as English ivy, Bush Honeysuckle and Japanese Honeysuckle.

Lemon Road Park is part of Fairfax County's Invasive Management Area volunteer program. Learn more about invasive plants and the volunteer program at: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/resources/ima/

Thanks to all who volunteered!
