    • Taco Cinco de Mayo (DC area food truck that serves tacos, quesadillas, and burritos)
    • Halal Bowl (new restaurant nearby Pimmit specializing in authentic Mediterranean halal cuisine, made with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes)
    • Blended Desserts (a local business specializing in gluten-free baked goods)
    • King Softy (ice cream truck with waffle cones, sundaes, bubble tea, slushies, and popsicles)

PHCA Park Cleanup Day

Saturday, April 20, 2024

9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Supplies and snacks: Olney Park in Pimmit Hills

Cleanup location: Any one of our eight parks

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than beautifying some of our local Pimmit Hills parks?

Swing by Olney Park between 9:00 am and noon to pick up supplies (gloves, trash bags, and a limited supply of trash grabber-pickers that you can use to get hard-to-reach items or pick up things without bending or squatting). Look for a table near the parking lot with a PHCA Board Member handing out supplies and snacks!

You can dispose of your garbage collection bags on your own, or bring them back to Olney park by 1:00 pm and we will take care of them. Bring back the trash grabber-pickers as well; they are PHCA property and we will use them at future cleanups.

If you clean up a particularly messy area, please take before and after photos and share it with us!

Kids who need volunteer hours: This is a great way to earn some volunteer hours while helping out our neighborhood! Contact us This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. about volunteering and we will make sure that a board member is available to sign off on your volunteer work.

As for which park you clean up: If you have a favorite Pimmit Hills park, go for it! If you don't have one in mind, ask us for a recommendation. A list of Pimmit Hillls parks and sizes is below.

Please RSVP at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to help us with snack planning. Thank you!
