Our next Pimmit Hills Citizens Association (PHCA) meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm next Tuesday, September 4 at the Pimmit Hills Adult Learning Center, 7510 Lisle Avenue. The PHCA Board will be giving an update about what has been happening in and around our neighborhood since we last met.

Keynote Speaker - Lynne Corn
The September meeting highlight will be a 30 minute presentation by Lynne Corn, who lives near the corner of Griffith and Lisle. She has undertaken an effort to create a minimal emission household that reduces adverse environmental effects. The presentation will discuss energy and water saving measures including rain garden installation, county assistance services and home additions.

Save Pimmit Barns Presentation
A second presentation at the September meeting will be undertaken by Lesley Stone of the Save Pimmit Barns Group. She and the group's leaders will be presenting the historical significance of the Pimmit Barn and the extensive efforts they have undertaken to preserve the Barn for neighborhood use. The presentation will be followed by a question time for all residents in attendance.

PHCA Budget for 2013
It has been a number of years since the PHCA presented a budget to the members at a September meeting. This year our treasurer Brad Sanders will be presenting a budget for the next 12 months of PHCA operations.

PHCA National Night Out
We hope you didn't miss our community's fantastic National Night Out event in August. Over 200 Pimmit Hills residents turned out to enjoy the evening, have a cool treat and get to know their neighbors. Special thanks to all who planned and ran the event, local businesses and organizations that had booths, Supervisor John Foust who stopped to greet neighbors, and the Fairfax County Fire Department who brought their fire engines. We took lots of photos and even a video of the event.

Baha’i Cleanup Day
The Baha'i community of McLean will hold a trash clean up at Olney Park on Sunday, September 16 at 8:30 am. All are welcome to join. Coffee, water & snacks are provided, as well as latex gloves and trash bags. Wear comfortable clothes.
