Pimmit Hills Clean Up Day this Saturday

From PHCA President Carol Martz:

Hey, Everyone -- Get RID OF THAT STUFF IN YOUR YARD OR PORCH -- Make our neighborhood a better place to live. Don't worry if you are not a member of the PHCA. We will be collecting the $20 dues at the Cleanup. It's a very inexpensive way to get rid of all that stuff you've been meaning to pitch for years!!!

Location: Pimmit Hills School on Lisle Avenue
Time: 8:00 am to Noon

Here is a list of what you can and cannot dispose of:

This program is intended to provide collection of: large appliances, furniture, lawn mowers (with gas and oil removed), tires (limit four, off rims), etc. In addition, the following materials must be separated for recycling: White goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, de-humidifiers and air conditioners).

The following items will not be collected as part of the community clean-up:

Normal household refuse, brush, yard waste, rocks, brick, concrete, stone, dirt, motor oil, car batteries, paint, roofing shingles, drywall, asbestos, glass, hazardous chemicals and pesticides, toxic waste, animal waste and explosives.

Other items may be subject to approval by the County.

Pimmit Hills, founded in 1950, is located next to the Tysons Corner area in Virginia and is one of the largest communities in Fairfax County with over 1,640 homes.
