Spring is here very early in Pimmit Hills and we hope you are enjoying the wonderful weather! Our neighborhood is a great place to take walks, see the variety of our homes and find all the various parks hidden around in our community.

Here's a Pimmit Hills Citizens Association (PHCA) news update:

Next PHCA Meeting

  • The PHCA meeting will be next week, Tuesday, March 6 at 7:30 pm at the Pimmit Hills Center located at 7510 Lisle Avenue. It is expected to be well-attended so be sure to arrive early to get a seat. Here are updated details:
  • The PHCA Treasurer will be there starting at 7:00 pm taking membership dues if you haven’t already paid, but once the meeting starts, no more memberships will be taken at the meeting.
  • You need to be a paid member of PHCA in order to vote, according to PHCA Bylaws. Our membership records website show that you have a _______ Membership that expires on ______.
  • The agenda for the meeting will start with normal PHCA business. After this, representatives from the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) will present their proposal concerning redevelopment of the barn property on Cherri Drive. Our Dranesville District Supervisor, John Foust, will also be there.
  • There will be a discussion period where the CSB representatives and Supervisor John Foust will answer questions posed by Pimmit Hills residents.
  • When the discussion period has ended, members will obtain their ballot from one of two board members who will check your name/household off the list.
  • There will be only ONE vote per house address (i.e. regardless if you paid $20 for a Resident Membership as an individual or $20 for a Family Resident Membership as a couple).
  • The vote is a Position Vote to see whether PHCA members are in favor or not of CSB’s proposal. As with all other positions votes in the history of PHCA concerning issues that affect the community, the results of the vote determine what PHCA’s official position is and this is then presented to our elected representatives or local government officials. The more residents who get involved in their community by becoming a PHCA Member, attending PHCA meetings and voting at them, the more weight our position carries with county and state officials when they make their decision on the matter.
  • While the vote is being taken by ballot, we will have cake and refreshments celebrating the 61st Anniversary of the formation of the Pimmit Hills Citizens Association. The counting of the ballots will be public for everyone to see.
  • Throughout the entire meeting, PHCA will require all in attendance treat one another, the PHCA Board, as well as the CSB representatives and Supervisor John Foust with courtesy and politeness and respecting each other’s opinions. Yelling, accusations and disruptions will not be tolerated and those that engage in this conduct will be asked to leave the meeting.

Membership Benefits

Sometimes we are asked, “why join PHCA, what’s in it for me?” Here’s your answer: Benefits of PHCA Membership.

Happy Anniversary PHCA!

March 2012 marks the 61st anniversary of the formation of the Pimmit Hills Citizens Association. Back in March 1951, 60 Pimmit Hills residents got together to organize the Association. Its mission is still true today:

"The Association’s activities are non-partisan, non-sectarian and non-political. Its purpose is to promote, develop, and improve the general welfare of the Pimmit Hills community. Since its formation, the Association has provided a forum for discussing community needs and problems and a framework for organizing efforts to satisfy or solve them."

Come celebrate what 60 Pimmit Hills residents started 61 years ago to make our community a better place to live. An anniversary cake and refreshments will be served at the next PHCA meeting on March 6.
