NOVAForward Real Estate Forum: The Early Projects of the NEW Tysons Corner

On Tuesday, December 13, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce will present "NOVAForward Real Estate Forum: The Early Projects of the NEW Tysons Corner" from 7:30 am to 10 am at the Capital One building in McLean. If you work, employ people, own property, live in or near Tysons, or just have an interest in what the future holds for this important economic engine for Fairfax County and Virginia, come learn the latest on coming changes and imminent projects.

Over the past three decades, Tysons Corner has become an epicenter of real estate and development, morphing from a rural area into one of the largest office/retail centers in the country. With the approval of a new plan for Tysons Corner last year and the arrival of rail within the next couple of years, Tysons Corner will be transformed into a vital, 24/7 urban downtown over the next few decades, with two to three times the amount of development that exists today.

Join the Chamber for a Real Estate Forum to see what you can expect in terms of development in Tysons Corner, starting with the plans at the four new stations. Holland & Knight Executive Partner Stu Mendelsohn, who has been active in the re-planning of Tysons for many years, will provide an overview of Tysons – where we’ve been, where we are, and how the new plan envisions the Tysons Corner of the future to evolve. The program will also update everyone on the latest with the rail project and the HOT lanes project.

Key players in the completion of some early projects will provide details on development plans, as well as provide pictures, sketches and other display items for four upcoming projects, one at each station:

Tysons East – David Haresign, Bonstra-Haresign Architects
Tysons Central 123 – James D. Policaro, Managing Director, Development, Lerner
Tysons Central 7 – J. Douglas Koelemay, Vice President, Community Relations, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC)
Tysons West – Jon Adler, Partner, The Georgelas Group
