Construction to Slow Traffic at Magarity, Olney Intersection to One Lane April 27-May 13

From the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project:

Construction to Slow Traffic at Magarity, Olney Intersection in Pimmit Hills/McLean to One Lane Daytimes April 27-May 13

Beginning on or about Wednesday, April 27, Magarity and Olney roads will be reduced to one lane where these busy roads intersect in the Falls Church/McLean area. Dulles Metrorail crews will be restoring the curb line and gutter and installing a new storm drainage pipe.

The work will continue, weather permitting, through Friday, May 13, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays and on occasional Saturdays. Flaggers will be on hand to help control traffic. Magarity Road is a popular thoroughfare for travelers between Route 7 and McLean.

This work is related to the project's ongoing construction of a traction power substation on the southeast corner of Magarity and Olney roads.

Private entrances and driveways will be accessible at all times. Signage will be installed warning drivers that the flaggers and one-lane traffic are ahead. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution when traveling through this intersection.

All work is weather permitting and subject to change. For construction-related emergencies, call the Project Hotline at 877-585-6789. For information about the project, visit www.dullesmetro.com or call 703-572-0506.
