The Commons Rezoning Planning Hearing

This is the planning commission hearing for RZ 2011-PR-017 (MR Commons, LLC)
MR Commons LLC, proposes to redevelop 20.96 acres that are currently developed with 12 low-rise garden apartment buildings containing a total of 331 rental units. The applicant proposed two options for the Commons, both involving only residential development. Option 1 proposed full redevelopment of the property with construction of seven new high-rise residential buildings and two large public parks. Option 2 also proposes construction of seven new high-rise residential buildings, but preserves an existing 55-unit building and related surface parking. The preserved building would occupy a portion of one of the large parks proposed under Option 1.
