McLean Citizens Association Presents: Homeowner/Condo Association Forum -- Know Your Rights and Responsbilities

  • Wednesday, November 13, 2013
  • 7:30 PM
  • McLean Community Center Community Hall, 1234 Ingleside Drive, McLean, VA
The McLean Citizens Association cordially invites interested citizens and officers and members of homeowner associations (HOAs) and condominium associations (CAs) in the greater McLean area to a forum on issues relating to HOA/CA legal responsibilities and authorities.

HOAs and CAs face an array of legal requirements under Virginia and local laws.  Understanding these requirements can be crucial in ensuring legal compliance and avoiding member complaints and challenges. A panel of experts will provide critical information regarding these requirements, including recent legislative changes in 2013, as well as an overview of powers and authorities conveyed by these rules.

The Panel will include:
  • Kim O'Halloran-Perez, a community association attorney with Rees, Broome and Diaz and the current President of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
  • Pamela Danner, an attorney who has represented HOAs for many years.
  • Michelle Thompson, the Fairfax County HOA liaison.
  • Heather Gillespie, the state-appointed Virginia Ombudsman for HOA complaints.
