The City of Falls Church Public Works Department will host the Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Recycling Center (217 Gordon Rd.).

City residents may recycle a variety of items including used electronics, cell phones, clothing and textiles, bicycles, printer cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and medical supplies like crutches. All items will be recycled, reused, or donated to charity. Paper shredding will also be available, courtesy TrueShred. Residents may bring up to three boxes, no bigger than 2’ x 2’ x 2’. For a complete list of acceptable items and what happens to each item after donation, visit www.fallschurchva.gov/RE.

Residents should turn onto Gordon Rd. from Broad St. and volunteers will remove items from the car. There is no need for residents to get out of their carsundefinedsimple and easy.

eAsset Solutions will provide the electronics recycling as well as food and beverages for the event volunteers. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, including clothing and textiles sorting and bagging, bicycle repair and inventory, traffic direction, and cardboard breakdown.
